Complete rules for infants, children, teens, and unaccompanied minors sailing on Carnival.
Infants: Must be at least 6 months old at the time of sailing. Some longer itineraries (Hawaii, Panama Canal, Transatlantic) require infants to be 12 months old.
Children: Ages 2–11 are considered children. They sail at reduced rates when sharing a cabin with two adults.
Teens: Ages 12–17. They have their own teen club (Club 02).
Carnival allows children 8–17 to sail unaccompanied with a signed waiver from a parent or guardian. An additional fee applies. The child must be registered with the youth program.
For international sailings, a notarized consent form is often required if only one parent is traveling. Carnival may ask for birth certificates or passports at check-in.
Carnival frequently runs “Kids Sail Free” promotions (2nd child sails free when sharing with two adults). Kids clubs are free and divided by age groups.
